Rescue Relief Programs

The Central Council of the Tlingit & Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska received American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA or Act) funds in 2021 from the United States Department of Treasury to help turn the tide on the Coronavirus pandemic and lay the foundation for a strong and equitable recovery.

Through the Tribe’s ARPA funds, several programs have been developed to provide direct relief assistance to tribal citizens and tribal citizen-owned small businesses that have been impacted by the Coronavirus pandemic. These programs aim to address the needs of tribal citizens and provide support to our communities to remain diligent in the fight against COVID-19 as we work towards recovery from the pandemic’s impacts .

The use of ARPA funds must fall within specific categories (economic hardship, essential workers, tribal government revenues or infrastructure) which meet all U.S. Department of Treasury requirements .
